Yogeswari Ramankrishnan

Yogeswari Ramankrishnan is the dedicated President of Persatuan Penduduk Kawasan Jalan Union Sentul, an organization that has been making a significant impact on the community since its founding in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under her leadership, the organization has been able to support struggling families by helping them send their children to school, as well as reduce food waste and provide resources for low-income earners. These efforts have been made possible through partnerships with organizations such as the Lost Food Project Malaysia, which have helped in expanding outreach efforts and strengthening the fight against hunger and food waste. In her own words "Surplus food is not waste. It is date, edible food that is considered excess and is therefore still fit for human consumption" In addition to fighting food insecurity, non-food items such as personal care products sanitary towels, toothbrushes and shampoo and household items are also donated to the public.

For the past 3 years ever since MCO Yogeswari have been supporting the dwellers staying in Sentul as well as many soup kitchens and the other charity organizations by donating vegetables collected from Pasar Borong Selayang. Yogeswari's vision to educate the community about carbon emissions and provide sustainability for those in need has been a driving force behind the organization's initiatives. Her commitment to raising awareness about the harmful effects of food waste and minimizing its impact on the environment has had a significant impact on achieving balance and harmony within the local community, establishing a sustainable ecosystem.
